Since the death of Auto-tune, this MF keeps coming back. With the new I AM T-PAIN Iphone APP, which i’d like to mention is quite addictive but still I cringe at the sound of T-PAIN… with all the songs that have been recorded previous to the death of Auto-tune being released after it’s demise, for example MJB & Drake’s single “The One” and now Diddy’s new group Dirty Money… oh no he diddy… yes he diddy…

Check out Dirty Money’s new single & video HERE.

Auto-death

09/09/09

September 9, 2009

Today is 09/09/09… to some it’s hump day… some it’s pay day… somebody’s getting married today… somebody’s getting divorced… to me it’s just another ole regular day… well not really regular cause ain’t nothing regular about this life… most importantly today is the day that artists in Vancouver gather at Robson Square to protest against B.C.’s cut on funding for Arts Programs.

Here is a little excerpt from the group page:

British Columbia’s arts and culture sector is being decimated by a government that is clearly contemptuous of one of the province’s most productive economic sectors.

Arts funding has and is being cut despite recent headlines telling us it has been “restored” – This is only for a few and only temporarily. Despite what we are being told, the figures we have at present tell us that our sector will be cut by up to 92% by the end of this government’s mandate. This while their own studies show that for every $1 they invest, they receive a return of $1.38 in taxes.

We ask you to consider the ways that arts and culture touch your daily lives at home, in the streets, your children in schools, on TV, your music, on the internet, in videogames and in theatres. We ask you to think about culture as part of our individual and community identities, a way to connect with our origins with who we are today, and with what we care about.

Our world would be a gray place without our art and culture. Art is not a frill. Culture matters.

So if ya’ll get a chance today go check out the protest… remember if we don’t stand together we fall together…

Little Wee Dragon…

September 9, 2009

okay so I was talking to this dude from Sweden today and I mentioned that one of my favorite bands is from Sweden… He asked who? I says “Little Dragon”… and he laughed! the foo laughed! Does that sound like a funny name? It ain’t like it’s Little Dragon Z! So for those FOOS that don’t know about them… educate yourself… This is just ONE of my favorite songs from their new record Machine Dreams.

My Step:

i’m back…

September 9, 2009

after a summer full of jam sessions, my best birthday yet, meteor showers, boat parties, new friends, old friends, BBQ’s, Dance Lessons in my living room… overall a good time. A GREAT time! I just finished my first single which I had the great pleasure of working with the one and only Chin Injeti… Chin has been an inspiration to me not only musically but as a person. He touches hearts wherever he goes and infectiously passes that same energy through whomever has the pleasure of meeting him. I’m so excited for this cause I among many others would agree it’s been a LONG time coming. I’m not very good at this whole blogging thing but I hope to make a connection with everyone that comes across this blog to see what i’m up to. I appreciate all the support and the people around me that keep me motivated and inspired to keep going (i’ve tagged you)… alright enough of the cheese here’s some Wednesday Mornin’ Lovin’:

Do you remember?

May 13, 2009

This performance here alone inspired me to be a singer/performer… Michael Jackson broke his leg in rehearsal (Publicity stunt?) and did his whole performance sitting down… Dorky moment: I was 11 and did this performance for my friends at my birthday party… I seriously had a chair wrapped in tin foil and pretended to have a broken leg… anywho, check out Michaels version here, yayer!!

Carla is the creator and founder of “The Burlesque Beauties“, which I served as their Musical Director… Check out Carla teach VJ Sara on MUCH MUSIC’s MOD a little bottay swangin’here.
